Upper GI: Stomach + Small intestinal model (tiny-TIMsg)

The tiny-TIMsg, has a high degree of automation making it more convenient and offering a high predictive value for clinical data. It has been successfully evaluated for research applications in the pharmaceutical, food/nutrition and animal feed industries. It supports compound selection, such as different drug substance modifications (e.g., different salts, dosage forms, formulations and/or excipients). tiny-TIMsg has the following features:

  • An advanced gastric compartment (agc) for the realistic simulation of gastric activity and morphology
  • True-to-life flow rates of bile and pancreatic secretions

Large intestinal model (TIM-2)

TIM-2 is an advanced dynamic in vitro model of the large intestine that replicates proximal colon conditions. It facilitates the analysis of fermentation, microbiome modulation, and overall colon health. It can be used to study the release, dissolution and stability of a formulation and assess the prebiotic potential of (novel) food products by testing the effect on the human gut microbiome. TIM-2 has the following features:

  • Inoculated with active intestinal microbiota under anaerobic conditions
  • Ability to use microbiota for healthy individuals or patients and different age categories (infants, adults, elderly, disease states)
  • Continuous removal of fermentation products and metabolites to maintain healthy gut microbiota
