The most predictive gut models
The TIM® Platform
Precise on its own, unmatched together! The TIM®platform offers deep insights from ingestion until excretion. It includes both bio-predictive in vitro dissolution and permeation as well as an in silico PBPK approach to predict systemic exposure of products.
Enter the next stage of GI research with confidence
The TIM® platform offers four advanced technologies, stand-alone or combined, to simulate the gastrointestinal (GI) tract with high precision, and is trusted widely within the pharmaceutical and nutrition industry. Our advanced in vitro and in silico approach simulates the entire GI tract, offering deep, data-driven insights into digestion, bioavailability/ADME, and microbiome interactions.
TIM Upper GI
TIM Upper GI brings together advanced dynamic in vitro models to mimic the stomach and small intestine with exceptional physiological accuracy.
TIM Upper GI models are typically used for drug release, dissolution, and digestion:
- Understand, benchmark, rank, and select formulations
- Elucidate (unwanted) interactions (food-drug; drug-drug)
TIM Colon
TIM Colon is a cutting-edge, dynamic, in vitro model of the large intestine, designed to replicate colon conditions with high precision.
TIM Colon is typically used to:
- Understand and rank oral drugs and microbiome modulators (such as prebiotics & probiotics)
- Evaluate the impact of nutrition on microbiome composition & metabolism
TIM Cell
TIM Cell is a one-of-a-kind dynamic Caco-2 permeability assay. It is specifically developed to use TIM® intestinal fluids (TIF).
TIM Cell is typically used to predict the permeability of active (pharmaceutical) ingredients:
- e.g. related to inhibiting or enhancing factors, formulation characteristics, etc.
- Prediction of absorption (Fa%) by combining with TIM Upper GI and/or TIM Colon bioaccessibility (dissolution) data.
TIM PK
TIM-PK comprises an in silico approach that extrapolates accurate physiological TIM® drug release, dissolution and/or permeation data into predicted in vivo absorption and pharmacokinetics (PK).
Supporting evidence-based approaches to pediatric drug development, food effect studies, formulation and biopharmaceutics challenges driven by solubility, stability, absorption or metabolism. By combining the world-leading gastrointestinal model with robust PBPK simulations,
TIM PK delivers unmatched insights and actionable predictions to:
- Guide (drug) formulation optimization
- Drive strategic clinical choices & and gain regulatory confidence
